The impact of CINELAN
CINELAN is filmmaker-driven, video publisher dedicated to delivering new audiences and ongoing revenues to documentary filmmakers through the worldwide syndication of professionally-produced, three-minute films.
Meeting the content needs of syndication partners and brands for high quality and engaging content, CINELAN is building the world’s largest premium library of “must see” three-minute stories (all non-fiction) on a range of topics that include world affairs, environmental issues, entertainment, technology, and humor. Mainstream audiences will access CINELAN films through content-rich websites, digital cinemas, TV, and mobile devices. Our syndication process offers filmmakers painless access to quality distribution, immediate funding and a reliable revenue stream.
With international presence and offices in New York and London, CINELAN brings the critical lens and diverse voices of documentary filmmakers to global audiences hungry for short, compelling film stories they can’t resist.
CINELAN was originally founded by documentarian Morgan Spurlock and futurist and Ministry of Culture CEO David Art Wales as a means of providing documentary filmmakers a platform on the web. Thomas Hoegh of London-based Arts Alliance, a venture capital group dedicated to supporting the development of innovative and high growth media and technology businesses, quickly transformed the vision into a global concern dedicated to enabling these great storytellers to fill the void for professionally produced short content across all media platforms.
CINELAN’s advisory board of filmmakers which drives the quality of its content and its industry focus includes founder and Academy Award nominee Morgan Spurlock, and award winning directors Ross Kaufman, Jessica Yu, and Eugene Jarecki. The board is assembled and advised by CINELAN Board of Directors member and 25-year indie film veteran Karol Martesko-Fenster.
