Wai Mun Yoon, Digital Strategist & Head of UK Operations
As CINELAN’s Digital Strategist, Wai Mun Yoon is responsible for all aspects of the company’s digital content delivery strategy, from pathways for distribution, to digital asset management. Also heading up UK Operations, Yoon is responsible for revenue and partnerships in both the UK and European markets. With nearly a decade of expertise enhancing online ventures through emerging media platforms and innovative technologies, Yoon brings to CINELAN a critical perspective of the competitive and future landscapes of digital distribution.
Prior to joining CINELAN, as Managing Editor at LOVEFiLM, Europe’s largest online DVD rental business, he helped to brand the company for launch and then developed its premium content offering, as well as ensuring technological dominance through integration of a state-of- the-art recommendation engine. He later developed the strategies and market positioning surrounding the launch of internet-mobile convergence play, Blinkbox. Yoon has consulted on digital strategy for such well-known brands as KPMG and The Frontline Club – the members' club for leading international journalists. Prior to establishing his consultancy, he worked as a producer at The Economist on the Business This Week project, an early online video enterprise. He also founded Artseen, a pioneering online platform devoted to promoting the work of established British artists (such as Peter Griffin, Sir Terry Frost) to wider global audience. Wai Mun was educated at Haberdashers' Aske's School and Robinson College, Cambridge. He holds a medical degree from Cambridge University.
